About Ms. D & How My Background Will Benefit You

Becoming a professional coach and naming the business Coaching with Ms. D has been an organic process. Thanks to my psychology education, teaching cosmetology, leading a school team, and advising students on career options flowed freely. The moniker pays homage to my students, who named me as such and, through their success, inspired me to follow my passion.

However, I didn't start there. I began my journey in high school, rebelling against a family that wanted my higher education. I believed cosmetology to be a simple choice. I was wrong, but I loved it, and my instructor inspired me to attend college, which I did, majoring in psychology. After dabbling in substance abuse counseling, I started a family very young, continuing as a licensed stylist and growing a hair and makeup business for weddings.

Shortly thereafter, I teamed up with my husband to open a successful entertainment company and children's party facility. Yet, the urge to be a therapist nagged at me. Life created another path, leading to cosmetology education and management.

A pandemic interrupted the world, and I sought a Master's in English to fulfill another passion: writing. Relocating out of state forced a year of introspection, and I began the process of coaching certification to live the rest of my working years fulfilling my dreams.

I am grateful for my journey and where it has taken me. However, I can't help but ponder that a career coach could have guided me to this point sooner. And here I am, for you.

Our current offerings include career change, professional development, life, and relationship coaching, and resume review sessions. Soon, clients can expect to access online courses and webinars for career advancement.
